Waterdeep Nights, by Deusuum

Waterdeep: The Crown of the North, The City of Splendors. One of the premier cities of the Sword Coast, brimming with mystery, intrigue, sophisticated lords and merchants side by side with desperate criminals staying one step ahead of its strict laws. You will play five adventurers who (a) have been in Waterdeep for some time (at least several weeks) and (b) are acquainted with each other socially.

As an adventurer just beginning your story, you have been getting by in Waterdeep’s more lively districts, and have noticed an increase in tension – unexplained skirmishes and heavier law enforcement. You have been keeping your eye out for trouble, and for opportunity.

Open Questions

Chat Platform: From what I hear, using Roll20 for video and audio tends to make the whole game lag. We can try that out, but if it doesn’t work, the best bet is probably using Discord either for audio or audio + video, together with headphones/headsets. Discord has push to talk and is generally seen as the best performing gaming chat platform.

Adventurers’ League: I’m assuming people don’t want to play under Adventurer’s League rules, but if you do, let me know. If you did, the advantage would be that you could take your character at the end of this adventure and use him or her at other AL games (probably at cons or gaming stores.) The main disadvantage would be that character generation is limited to “PHB + 1” – race, class, and any spells learned from class features need to come from the Players’ Handbook and any one other book per character.
